Yangon – Sittwe – Mrauk U – Myo (Chin) Village


Day 01 Yangon
Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Welcome by your guide and transfer to hotel. You will be guided for sightseeing in Yangon featuring many interesting sights and sounds including experience to the landmark of the city centre, Sule Pagoda and the City Hall. And enjoy the walks around the Mahabandoola Park to see the colonial buildings and Botataung Pagoda at the bank of the Yangon River. Overnight at Yangon.
Day 02 Yangon – Sittwe
Early morning transfer to Yangon Domestic Airport for flight to Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine State. Check-in at hotel upon arrival. Sightseeing starts by visiting Sittwe Central Market to experience the local lifestyle and fishing industry of Rakhinese State. And then proceed to LokaNanda Pagoda and have lunch at local Restaurant. And evening sightseeing starts with Rakhine State Cultural Museum, Maha Kuthala Buddha Museum (the most extensive collection of Rakhine-style Buddha images), Old Clock Tower (Built by Dutch since Colonial Era from the 18th century), New ClockTower and the tour will finish with a little walk on the Strand Road and the Viewpoint where you can enjoy sunset between day and night. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Sittwe.
Day 03 Sittwe – Mrauk U
After breakfast at the hotel in early morning, proceed to jetty to take a boat ride which will take appr; 3-5 hours to Mrauk U through the upstream of Kaladan River. Lunch will be served on board. On arrival to Mrauk-U, transfer to hotel and check in. Mrauk U tour starts with visiting Koethaung Temple, the Pitakataik Library, Laungbanpyauk Pagoda, Yadana Mannaung and Sakaya Mannaung Pagodas. These temples and pagodas are in a low-lying area surrounded by hills and are some of the most important religious shrines of the medieval Mrauk U period. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Mrauk-U.
Day 04 Mrauk U
Awake early to enjoy an memorable sunrise over the misty hills of Mrauk U. It is one of the most picturesque spots to capture the moment in Myanmar. Return to hotel for breakfast and continue sightseeing in Mrauk U. Start with the ruins of the palace of ancient Mrauk U Kingdom and Archaeological Museum. Then proceed to Shitthaung Temple (the temple of 80,000 Buddha images) which is built in 15th century with remarkable collection of Arakanese style sculptured Buddha images. Continue to Andawthein temple which represents unique style of Mrauk U architecture, circular Ratanabon Paya, Htukkanthein Temple (Fortress-like temple), Laymyetnha Paya which was the first pagoda built in Mrauk U. Final stop at the hills nearby Laymyetnha Paya to enjoy the sunset. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Mrauk U.
Day 05 Mrauk U – Tattooed Chin Village (By Boat) – Mrauk U (Extension Tour)
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to local jetty to take a boat trip to Chin Tribe Village for a day return trip. Trip starts with leisurely boat ride along the bank of Laymyo River around 8:00 AM and climb up to the Face-tattooed Chin villages around 12:00 noon. Lunch at the village with lunchbox and study the lifestyle and culture of Chin tribes. Then return to Mrauk U by the evening. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Mrauk U.
Day 06 Mrauk U – Sittwe – Yangon
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to the jetty to take a boat trip back to Sittwe. Stop at local restaurant for lunch in Sittwe before transferring to Sittwe Airport for a flight to Yangon.
Upon arrival to Yangon, transfer to hotel for check-in. Then visit Shwedagon Pagoda with golden stupa covered with 60 tons of pure gold leaf. Enjoy sunset over the site from Karaweik Royal Barge (a royal floating barge on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake, for photo stop). Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.
Day 07 Yangon
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy shopping for your souvenirs and handicraft collection at Bogyoke market (aka) Scott Market, Gems Mart and Art Galleries (Optional due to international flight schedule). Transfer to Yangon airport for departure.
